Dustin's 3d art

I am an amatuer artist, based in Orange county California. I work in anything from digital media, to spray painting. My profession is as a Quality Assurance Test Analyst.

While I work at Blizzard Entertainment, the items discussed on this website are my own, and do not reflect the views of Activision/Blizzard.

Wow, been most of two years since I have updated this. I have been busy with work and school. I started the body mechanics class, half way through it at Animation Mentor. I think I am improving slowly, and am enjoying the work.

I have some projects still going, the custom painted Wii is almost complete. I have a few odds and ends to work out on the design, but will post once I get those worked out.

I am also painting the Soldier 76 statue, that came with the collector's edition of Overwatch. The paint hasn't been as clean as I like, but  I just want to get well enough to hold it's own with the tracer statue at my desk at work.

Here are some shots of my personal Dreamcast, I decided to go all black, and paint a skull and crossbones on it. I started to learn about polishing, and it is kinda a pain, I have a lot more to experiment and learn about the process.

That is a GDEMU sporting in there, in case you are wondering. Oh, and don't pirate games, despite how cool the skull and crossbones looks on this.

The perfect dark console never sold, unfortunately. Keeping it packed away for now.

I have a new page up for Crashbox Exile. I want to move to doing it ditigally, but it may be a while before the next update. Here is a preview image of the digital page panel:

I am toying with the idea of posting my Strange Meetings, foul dealings comic up. There is some panels I want to fix in it, and while I have written the conclusion, I have not done the art for the last issue of that story.

Until next time, thanks for reading!

This year has been real full for me. Here are some of my best projects for the year, I would like to share with you all. Have a great New Year!

Personal project SNES case repair and custom paint (NFS):
This was my first jump into custom paint. The case had broken corners on two sides of the top shell, which I repaired. I then sanded down the texture of the plastic, and painted the whole thing in "coke" black. I also painted the katakana on the buttons, and removed the tabs inside the console, to allow famicon games to be played.

Perfect Dark inspired custom paint Nintendo 64:
Perfect Dark 2
This was my first attempt at painting scallops. I admit this came out simplistic, and there are several mistakes with the paint masking. I still think it looks sharp, and intend to sell this unit in the new year.

SNES custom button covers:
These are button covers I designed for the SNES power and reset buttons. You can purchase these now through shapeways. I plan to create some more of these, and have a couple concepts already waiting to be modelled.
